Always Remembered with Elizabeth Arden Always Red

2 min read

Elizabeth Arden has long supported women throughout their war efforts, even creating a red lipstick for female US Marines to wear as part of their standard issue uniform in WWII. So, with this in mind, Elizabeth Arden are supporting The Royal British Legion with an Always Red charity initiative.

As we head towards Remembrance Sunday, when we pay tribute to war veterans and the sacrifices they made, Elizabeth Arden Always Red Charity bottleElizabeth Arden will donate £5 from every Always Red fragrance sold, to help the Royal British Legion continue to provide care and support to service personnel, veterans of all conflicts, past and present, and their families.

Elizabeth Arden will also be offering a complimentary ‘Red Lip Look‘ as an added bonus for anyone purchasing Always Red – perfect for those looking for their perfect shade of red for the festive season.

Always Red is a luxurious, contemporary ‘floriental’. It was created by renowned perfumer, Clement Gavarry, alongside Arden’s Vice President Senior Perfumer, Yves Cassar.

Created to embody the confidence associated with wearing the colour red, it bursts open with blood orange, luscious red plum and passion fruit. The heart is  jasmine sambac, velvet rose petals and pink freesia, and the softly sensual base notes  are  mahogany woods, praline and red amber, which linger on the skin.

Nothing has the power to evoke memories like fragrance. A breath of perfume has the power to make us time-travel, or conjure up thoughts of a loved one,” says Jo Fairley, author and founder of The Perfume Society.

It’s why we love to bury our faces in a scarf belonging to our partner, for comfort – or poignant nostalgia. It’s why sometimes, on a street or in a restaurant, we’ll catch a breath of someone’s perfume, and turn – expecting to see someone we know and adore…

“In fact, fragrance’s unrivalled ability both to trigger and to ‘make memories’ – marking landmark moments in our lives, through beautifully-woven aromatic materials – is one of the key reasons we love it so. And of course, when we wear a fragrance ourselves, we are creating tomorrow’s memories for the people we treasure in our lives.”

So, as well as a poppy, maybe you’d like to wear Always Red this Remembrance Day.

The charity initiative is running now, until November 11th at Elzabeth Arden counters and elizabetharden.co.uk. Always Red EDT is £54, for 100ml, £38 for 50ml, and £27 for 30ml.
