Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy new eyes and lips
There’s a lot going on down Estee Lauder way at the moment – new launches galore! Let’s start this week with four brand new products, for eyes and lips.
First up, Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Eye Defining Singles eyeshadows (£20). This is a collection of 27 eyeshadow singles ranging from the softest nudes to the boldest hues. So, colour for everyone, whatever you favour, essentially. The shades are across four finishes – matte, velvet, luminous and brilliant – so you can get a matte look, or a high-shine look, whatever you fancy most.
The forumla is whatLauder are calling a tr-brid – it combines the best of a cream, powder and gel shadow, all in one.
It does go on beautifully, and is perfectly blendable. You can use them wet or dry. The only thing I don’t love about them is the packaging. It’s a very boring navy – deeper than the navy of the lipstick cases. Each shadow does have a fantastic mirror – good sized, but am still not a huge fan. These shadows are all on counter now.
Next up are Pure Color Envy Matte Lipstick (£25), created in collaboration with Estee Lauder’s spokesmodel and supermodel, Joan Smalls. Shades and finish were picked by Joan.
“It was so cool collaborating with Estee Lauder on this collection,” says Joan. “I brought in swatches of shades I thought would be great and then we talked about different formulas and finishes. I love a bold matte lip – it’s so chic. So, that’s what made, and they’re perfect.”
They certainly are. I have been rocking Furious – a bright neon orange coral – and have had so many compliments. The texture is very very matte, and they can be a wee bit drying, but wow, the colour pay-off is worth it! There are 12 new matte lipsticks in gorgoeus shades.
Staying with lips, Lauder’s big launch for Autumn Winter 15 is Pure Color Envy Liquid Lip Potion (£25). A hybrid product, this is the latest in lip innovation; giving you the rich colour intensity of a lipstick, the slip of a gloss, and the comfort of a balm.
Pigment in these is fantastic, and the colours are great- and there are sixteen shades to choose from, all universally flattering for all skin tones.
They’re grouped into Nudes to browns, Corals to reds, Pinks to berries and Mauves to plums.
The names are brilliant. Fierce Beauty – that’s one for Tyra Banks, we think, who loves the word fierce! Naughty Naive, Fragile Ego, Vague Obsession and Quiet Riot are my favourites!
Kendall Jenner is the star of this ad campaign, dressed in motorcycle-chic, with her beautiful lips taking centre stage.
So, it’s no wonder, as it’s Kendall Jenner at the heart of this, that the last new lip product is the Purte Color Envy Lip Volumizer (£23).
Using something called Hyla-Fill Complex, a blendof hyaluronic spheres nd hydrating agents, this volumizer leaves a hint of colour, whilst moisturising and smoothing your lips. It tingles, very pleasantly, but I haven’t noticed much of a Kylie Jenner pout whilst using it. But then, I don’t really want one either, thanks! Kendall’s lips are much more appealing.
You can wear the lip volumizer alone, or underneath lip colour.
