NEW M.A.C Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation

I’ve been deliberating over what foundation to use on my wedding day for months now. I am doing my own makeup, and whilst I want some coverage, I don’t want to wear much more than my usual base.

Bridal makeup is a key part of any bride-to-be’s planning. So many brides choose makeup artists, and completely change their look for the day, which seems, well, just a wee bit odd. Why would you want to look different on the biggest day of your life. Better, perhaps, but different? No.

Brides tend to be taken down a smoky eye and nude lip look, but with my love of red lipstick and bold colours, that’s never going to happen. I also want a base that is not too much. I know photos will be taken, but trust me, you don’t need photo-shoot heavy makeup on your wedding day – unless that’s how you usually like it.

So, there I was sifting through dozens of foundations, trying them all out, when M.A.C’s latest Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation landed on my desk. Note: waterproof. I liked the sound of this immediately  – no tears messing this stuff up, I thought.

This new foundation can be used as a foundation or a concealer. It’s buildable, and the oil-free watertight formula actually repels moisture from the surface of the face.

It’s so lightweight you can’t feel it – it’s pretty much weightless, to be honest, which is no mean feat for a medium to full coverage base.

I wore this out one day last week to a meeting, and was complimented by everyone there (all six of them) on how glowing my skin looked.


That’s pretty much exactly what we want our skin  to look like on our wedding day, am I right?!
