So much beauty news comes into my inbox each week, so I thought I’d condense some of it here into a little Beauty News round-up!

Katie Holmes looks beautiful…

* Katie Holmes was the face of Bobbi Brown, and I’m not sure if she still is or not – I don’t think so, considering she is now the very first Global Brand Ambassador of Olay. Phew, she gets about a bit in the beauty world, no? What does that title mean? Well, in her role she will represent the Olay global brand campaign, Your Best Beautiful, by encouraging women around the world to never just settle, and to be their best beautiful in their lives and in their skin. So there you go!  “I’m very excited to be the Olay Global Brand Ambassador,” said Katie, or her role. “Olay is a brand I respect, trust and believe in.  I love the products and message to women to never settle and put their best face forward, every day.”
* I am sure many beauty bloggers the world over dream of their very own makeup collection. Well, blogging maven Jane Cunningham, of BritishBeautyBlogger has only gone and done it! Her collaboration with Marks & Spencer launched yesterday. The packaging is illustrated by fashion and beauty illustrator, Nuno Da Costa, and the collection includes products for lips, eyes, nails and face. There is an eye pencil set, which I’m not that sure of, but the concept is lovely. Prices are from £12 to £15, and it’s available in M&S stores and online at marksandspencer.com

* Jo Malone London has just announced a new boutique opening in St Andrews in October. About time too, the residents of St Andrews and the University students are no doubt saying. We reckon it will be a winner in the Royal Burgh! For the first few days of opening, the store will be serving complimentary champagne, chocolates and hand and arm massages for all customers. Nice.

We are delighted to announce the opening of our new Jo Malone London Boutique in St Andrews. Steeped in history and regarded as one of the UK’s finest coastal towns, St Andrews exemplifies culture and provides the perfect synergy with our brand,” says  Rachel Baker, UK Vice President General Manger, Jo Malone London. We reckon their latest cologne, Wood Sage & Sea Salt, will go down a storm in St Andrews, don’t you?!

* Chanel sold Bourjois to Coty this week. Ildiko Szalai, Senior Analyst, Beauty and Personal Care Research, for Euromonitor reckons Coty may have acquired Bourjois to try and add some market value to their Colour Cosmetics portfolio, which, apparently, in Western Europe, according to Euromonitor, has a bit of a bleak outlook over the next few years. Coty could look to the Middle East and Africa, the most attractive region in terms of spending on colour cosmetics up to 2018, to build on the sales they already have with their Rimmel and Astor brands. All very high-brow business chat, indeed.

What we want to know is now that Chanel have sold Bourjois, will this stop people saying ‘Chanel eyeshadow is just the same as Bourjois, but in different packaging, you know…”
