New Year Sparkle

2 min read

It’s New Year! When it comes to New Year party looks, I always want to get a  bit of sparkle on, don’t you? I don’t know why, but it seems right to see out the old year and bring the new one in with glitter and bling.

I am in love with this glittery gold topcoat from KIKO – isn’t it fantastic? It’s from the Magical Holiday collection – and is £5.99. Beautiful sparkle.

Here are a few other sparkly bits and pieces to sprinkle all over your new year celebrations!

Clockwise, from top left:

Clarins launched its Ombre Sparkle Eye Shadows (£20 each) earlier this year. There are three shades – all beautifully sparkly and perfect for party eyes. Choose from Blue Lagoon, Gold Diamond, and Peach Girl. They’re a  soft touch glitter formula, with a powder texture composed of soft-focus, light-reflecting pearls which create a natural-looking sparkle – you won’t look like you belong on RuPaul with these on.

Eyeko Galactic Lid Gloss (£15 each) is fantastic. It comes in five brilliant shades, and it’s buildable – it can be as subtle or as drag queen as you like. It’s super-easy to use for a maximum result. Shades are Zodiac (copper), Solstice (gold), Retrograde (charcoal brown), Luna (mix of gold and silver), Stardust (silver-white). Stardust is my hands-down favourite – I just love it!

KIKO Magical Holiday Chrome Eyeshadow in Chameleon Gold (£11.99) is super-metallic, with a silky texture. You will get a lot of coverage out of this, and you can use it wet or dry, depending on the effect you want. It also comes in champagne, a rusty-red, and a green.

Barry M Glitter Cream Palette (£5.99). Pop into Superdrug and pick this up if you want something really easy to use, anywhere and everywhere. Use it on the body, eyes, cheeks, wherever you like really, to just get a hit of glittery sparkle with no hassle.

Nudestix Magnetic Nude Glimmer in 99% Angel (£24, cultbeauty.co.uk) More than a glow, less than a glitter – if that sounds like your level of sparkle, then try these. There are three shades – 24K Goddess, Bronzi Babe, and 99% Angel. I love multi-taskers like these – use them on eyes, cheeks, lips, wherever you like. The formula is a metallic gel that gives a glow, but you can layer it up and up to create a bold strobing highlighter.
