Festive Red Lips
Red lipstick is perfect any time of the year, agreed? But it’s even MORE perfect in the festive season – red is one of the classic Christmas colours after all. I love a good red lip. I’ve tried more than I can even remember over the years.
Here are six of the best for Christmas this year, with loads of sparkle involved too. Treat yourself!
Clockwise from top left:
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture High On Stars Edition Le Rouge (£29, escentual.com) – a gorgeous creamy true red that comes in a limited edition sparkling silver stars bullet. What’s not to love about this red lipstick?
Clarins Joli Rouge Velvet in Joli Rouge (£22, clarins.co.uk) is a gorgeous matte red. Joli Rouge Velvet launched in summer 2018 and is a super soft matte – thanks to organic marsh samphire and organic apricot oil. Joli Rouge is a classic, true red.
Barry M Matte Me Up Liquid Lip Paint in Paparazzi (£4.99, barrym.com). Barry M makes one of my all-time favourite reds, Lip Paint shade 121. This liquid lip is a super matte, and it’s a fantastic price for a red if you’re not keen to spend loads.
DIOR Diorific Happy 2020 Lipstick (£30.60 escentual.com)
This is a festive shimmering lipstick that will take you all the way through the festive season, from Christmas to New Year. The red shade is Passion – an intense radiant red, and the finish is semi-matte.
MAC Kiss of Stars Lipstick in Walk of Flame (£19, maccosmetics.co.uk). From the Starring You Holiday Collection, this shimmery berry red lipstick is super-cute. Probably one of the prettiest bullets I’ve seen for ages – maybe even too nice to use!
Dear Dahlia Lip Paradise Intense Satin Lipstick in Ruby (£28, feelunique.com) This is a satin-finish lipstick from this new to the UK vegan, cruelty-free brand. Formulated with rice bran wax and other plant-based natural ingredients, the gentle formula provides continuous comfortable wear without dryness or flakiness. thanks to the Dahlia Vvariabilis Flower Extract, which has proven antioxidant properties and provides anti-ageing and skin conditioning benefits. This red is a deep ruby, as the name suggests.
