Budget Beauty: Kardashian Foundation from Carter Beauty
If it’s good enough for a Kardashian promo shoot, then it’s good enough for us! Carter Beauty by Marissa Carter made headlines earlier this year when the budget Irish beauty brand’s foundation was used in the KUWTK promo shots for season 16.
When it comes to foundations, you don’t really have to spend loads, unless you want some all-singing, all-dancing, multi-tasker – and let’s be honest, most foundations are good to your skin these days anyway.
I was recently gifted two of the Carter Beauty by Marissa Carter bases – the Full Measure HD Foundation that Kourtney K was wearing, and the Half Measure Dewy Foundation.
Both of these bases are just £10 in Boots which is a pretty decent price for a base. But are these any good? In short, yes.
I am not going to pretend that they are my favourite foundations ever, but they are okay. I tried the Full Measure HD Foundation first, and it’s a bit more of a matte/flat finish than I have been wearing of late, but I like to change it up in the autumn/winter months.
The lightweight formula is water-based, and the base is buildable. I’d say start with a little first and build to the coverage you want.
I prefer the Half Measure Dewy Foundation. I like the light to medium coverage it gives, and the dewy, glowy illusion it gives to the skin. It still has a decent amount of coverage for a light base.
There are 12 shades of both foundations. I was given Meringue in the Full Measure, and Marshmallow in the Half.
I think Marshmallow is a wee bit pale for me, but coming into winter, it might not be! The Meringue has more of a pink base, which suits my skin tone better.
