Powders that are foundations AND powders seem to be a ‘thing’ right now. It’s all about that baking trend, isn’t it? Which, despite rumours to the contrary, is not over.

Maybe Kim Kardashian thinks it’s so 2017, but the process of putting on liquid foundation, and concealer, and then powder, as well is alive and kicking. There’s a whole section on the new Harvey Nichols HUDA Beauty counter on it, and the look that originated in drag makeup is here to stay.

So, hence the new powder products around like this new Too Faced Born This Way 3-in-1 Multi-Use Complexion Powder. This is a powder foundation that can be used in more than one traditional way, and that’s down to the applicators.

Use it with the sponge for natural coverage, with a foundation brush for quick and easy full coverage, and then on top of any foundation to give you complete shine control and a blurred finish.

I have never been a fan of powders or powder foundations, but if baking is your thing, or powder foundations are for you, then you need to have a look at this when it launches this weekend.

It’s infused with coconut water which aids in delicately replenishing skin’s moisture levels, alpine rose to help empower skin’s health and resilience, and hyaluronic acid which hydrates and gives a smoother, more youthful appearance.

It comes in a portable mirrored compact and includes a 2-in-1 sponge. It has flocked and non-flocked sides for different uses. And, it comes in a whopping 25 shades, from the very pale Cloud, right across the shade and skin tone spectrum, to Ganache, the richest shade.

Too Faced Born This Way 3-in-1 Multi-Use Complexion Powder, £28, is available from July 5 at Debenhams, Selfridges, John Lewis,, and Boots, as well as
