Do you Double Wear?
Did you know that Estee Lauder’s Double Wear foundation is the UK’s No1 base? Well, now you do!
I had to reacquaint myself with this classic base, so I recently had an appointment on counter in Edinburgh’s Harvey Nichols, to have a Powermap facial, and to be shade matched – this base comes in over 60 shades for all skintones.
You can book appointments for Lauder counters online, but I did notice on the site that Harvey Nichols wasn’t an Edinburgh option. Choose from Boots, Jenners or John Lewis.
It’s rare as a beauty editor and writer, that I get to counter, so it was a really fun experience. The shade matching tool is pretty nifty too, and if you are unsure of your foundation, then do go along – the counter staff are super helpful.
I was matched with Ecru – a light shade with a neutral base, and it’s pretty perfect. Double Wear original is a classic, medium coverage, buildable base. If I am honest, it’s a bit much for me. I like someting with more luminosity, but if you only use a little, it does go a long way. Don’t overdo it with this type of foundation. Double Wear is £33.50
Double Wear has two new products in the franchise from this February – the Double Wear Stay-in-Place Matte Powder Foundation SPF10 (£36) and the Double Wear Instant Fix 24HR Concealer + Hydra Prep (£25).
