REN Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream

I think we’ve determined now that Vitamin C is one of those beauty ingredients that works. It’s something that isn’t going anywhere, and if you aren’t using a product with Vitamin C in it, why not?!

The latest to land on my desk is the REN Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream. Vitamin C as an ingredient helps even the skintone by reducing and preventing hyperpigmentation, as well as acting as an antioxidant, reducing skin inflammation, and helping reduce fine lines and wrinkles, by promoting the synthesis of collagen.

It sounds like a miracle ingredient, but it does all depend on the percentages of Vitamin C in your product so be aware of that. I can’t actually find any percentages on this bottle anywhere, which is frustrating.

As well as the Vitamin C, this lightweight gel cream contains Magnesium for luminosity and radiance, as well as hydration, and Tara pod extract. This Peruvian plant pod extract activates when in contact with the skin’s natural microbiome – good bacteria – to even skintone. It has antioxidant protection activity and anti-inflammatory action which helps decrease skin’s redness.

This product is for all skin types, and because it is a gel cream I was a bit wary of it – I like a rich cream. But it does offer decent hydration. It absorbs reasonably quickly, and you apply to your face and neck, after cleansing, in the morning.

If you are using it to treat sun damage, then I’d suggest using sunblock on your skin too – but we really should be using an SPF on our face at all times, shouldn’t we?
