Brow time with MAC
Brows. They’re big beauty news. And bigger. But not huge. Let’s hope the days of over-bold, HD brows are over, agreed? But I do love a bit of a structured brow, and, therefore, a brow product.
MAC has launched two new products that will hit counters next week. One of them, the Shape & Shade Brow Tint, sort of scares me. I haven’t tried it, but I have one on the way so I will update soon! .
A liquid brow liner on one end effortlessly fills in sparse brows with strokes of sheer, buildable colour. On the other end, a sponge tip neatly distributes tinted powder that is housed in the cap, shading and setting the entire brow in place for hours of waterproof wear.
The nuanced brow is much more of a thing right now, whether that’s shadowing behind the hair for volume with Shape & Shade Brow Tint or adding extra hairs for bushiness with Eye Brows Styler. This new product comes in an incredible EIGHT shades – BRUNETTE, a grey brown; STYLIZED, a brown; TAPERED, a red brown; FLING, a light taupe ash blonde; LINGERING, a soft taupe brown; SPIKED, a rich brunette; STUD, a deep rich blackened brown; and STRUT, a mid-tone bronzed brown.
The other launch is the Eye Brows Styler. This brow pencil gives extreme definition by emulating fine hair-like strokes on your brows for a perfected look. The non-fading, matte colour pay-off is humidity and sweat resistant and smudge proof.
It comes in six shades – FLING, a light taupe ash blonde; CORK ,a red head; TAUPE, a soft taupe blonde; TAPERED, a red brown; LINGERING, a soft taupe brown; and SPIKED, a rich brunette.
I do love a brow pencil, but I am also partial to brow powder and wax. My brows are pretty light, and why does eyebrow tint never last long enough?
I have to admit that I have yet to find the secret to perfect brows. I’ve been plucking, shaving, waxing, pencilling, threading, shading, colouring, and generally messing with them since the mid-1990s!
