JO MALONE LONDON'S CRAZY COLOURFUL CHRISTMAS
Way back last Christmas, the lovely – and appropriately named – Holly, who was then a PR at Jo Malone London, told me I would love their 2017 Christmas collection. I waited a whole year for this – and was then ill and couldn’t attend the press appointment to view it!
However, I can see from the images that Jo Malone London’s Crazy Colourful Collection is right up my street! I love a bit of colour. All of the prints have been designed by fashion designer Jonathan Saunders, who is known for his love of graphic, geometric patterns, and colour. So, it’s bold, bright and full of colour, just like Jonathan’s designs.
I have to admit some of it isn’t quite colourful enough for me – but I do love the explosion in a paint factory look a wee bit too much at times.
There’s a new scent as ever, and sadly, because I missed my appointment, I haven’t had a chance to sniff this yet. It’s Green Almond & Redcurrant and comes in a 100ml Cologne (£92) and a huge 420g Ceramic Candle (£120) in gorgeous pink and green packaging.
I’m going to come back to the other new scent, Orange Bitters, in another blog post, so we’ll leave that for now. As ever, there are all sorts of lovely gift ideas – Christmas Cracker (£34), Minature Colognes (£75 for 5 x 9ml), Miniature Candles, and lovely Scented Ceramic Christmas Ornaments in Pine & Eucalyptus and Pomegranate Noir (£28).
These would all make lovely little gifts for Jo Malone London fans.
I have to admit that I find Pine & Eucalyptus a wee bit overpowering at times, but if you love it, you are in luck – you vcan get it in candles, luxury candles, diffusers, and room sprays this year.
There’s a lovely Limited Edition Pomegranate Noir Cologne (£92) – the classic scent all dressed up for Christmas in gorgeous monochrome stripes. This is only available online or at Selfridges and Brown Thomas.
Overall the ‘crazy colour’ concept is actually a wee bit tame – it’s ribbon on boxes for a lot of it, but there are some delightful boxes and their Advent Calendar (£300) this year is also bright and bold – it’s available exclusively at Harrods now, but rolls out nationwide next month.
