Clinique launch Moisture Surge Concentrate

Clinique add a new addition to their hugely popular Moisture Surge range this month – the Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate.

I mistakenly thought it was a serum but it’s a moisturiser in its own right. I love the Moisture Surge range, but I don’t love this offering as much. Probably because it’s oil-free, and although it does deliver the moisture, and my skin doesn’t feel tight, I just don’t like how it feels upon application. I don’t like moisturisers that don’t feel rich, if that makes sense?

Clinique Moisture Surge Serum

The water-gel texture delivers an intense hydration hit, and water-binding agents in it lock in hydration, and help strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier. Clinique also want to stress that the strengthening of this barrier means your skin can better resist environmental aggressors, which in turn delays the signs of ageing.

These ‘aggressors’ are things like pollution and UV exposure, which means our skin dries out all year long, not just seasonally. Dehydrated skin van become thin, and susceptible to damage. Clinique have something called ‘Liquid-Sphere™ Technology in this new concentrate. It is a double innovation combining encapsulated spheres of Vitamin E and Vitamin C which burst on application, to release antioxidants., with interlocking moisture-magnet polymers which seal in hydration.

Clinique advocate using this after the 3-Step Skin Care System, so effectively using it as a second moisturiser, but over the Dramatically Different Lotion. I am not so sure about this. I want to use it under my daily moisturiser as a serum – and added boost.

Whatever way you want to use it, if you need a hydration boost, and love the Moisture Surge range, you may want to give this a go. But be aware that it doesn’t feel like you are applying a rich, thick, moisturising cream, so if that if your beauty thing, like me, then you might not love this.

Clinique are aware of this, of course, and there are other textures of moisturiser available in the Moisture Surge range.
