British hairdresser Umberto Giannini died in 2001, but his name has lived on through his salons and his product line, which has recently been completely revamped.

The Birmingham hairdresser – once British Hairdresser of the Year, and a celeb’s favourite, with Madonna, the Beckhams, and Leo DiCaprio on his client list – died of a rare muscle wasting illness, aged just 32.

His products, available in Boots, are part of his legacy, and there are four ranges, and various ‘iconic’ products all relaunched and repackaged last month.

Choose from Curl, Smooth, Indulge or Glam, depending on your hair and what you want and need for it.

The Smooth range, say Umberto Giannini, does not mean flat.It preps, styles and protects for a smooth finish. The range has seven products, shampoo and conditioner and four NEW products –   60 Second Smooth pre shampoo treatment, Iron Out heat activae smoothing balm, Blow Dry In A Bottle a big shiny blow out spray, Weatherproof Finish, anti-humidity hairspray, as well as best-selling Miracle Worker smooth serum.  The conditioner contains Vitamin B5, and the 60 Second Smooth contains jojoba and coconut oils.

The Indulge range has new Nourishing Shampoo and Nourishing Conditioner, sulphate free and delightfully fragranced to make washing your hair a real treat. There’s a Pick Me Up moisturising nutrient spray and a Spoil Me hair oil in this range, as well as an Over Indulge Nourishing Hair Mask.

In the Curl range I love the Weatherproof Curl, a finishing cream to hold those curls, and in the Glam range, best-selling Backcomb in a Bottle is a brilliant hairspray. and I love Up Do, which preps freshly washed hair for braiding, putting up, giving it texture.

The new Glam Primer Pre-Styling Spray is brilliant for preparing your hair for styling.

All of the Umberto Giannini products are under £10 with prices from £6 to £8.50, available at Boots and
