May Day Cleanse with Suti

2 min read

It’s May Day, and that means washing your face in the first morning dew, apparently. Er, no thanks! I’ll stick with my latest favourite cleanser, if it’s all right by you!

Suti Facial Cleansing Balm is a gorgeous organic cleanser – as fresh as the morning dew, but with a lot more skincare benefits!

It contains lime, geranium, avocado, sunflower and apricot kernel oil. It’s made with 84% organic ingredients, and is approved by the Soil Association.

It’s a delicious green colour, and when you apply it to the skin the balm melts into a silky oil. Just massage it into the skin, it will draw out impurities, and cleanse thoroughly. It removes all makeup, even stubborn eye makeup, and your skin feels super-soft after use. After you massage it in, you can use the muslin cloth which comes with the cleanser to remove – just soak it in warm water. Or, you can use soaked cotton pads as well which I find easier.

Because this balm is so natural and organic, the consistency of it will change, depending on temperature. If you take this on holiday, don’t leave it out! I have found mine to have separated and created a sort of lumpy texture, but it doesn’t affect the balm’s performance at all.

The blended avocado, apricot kernel, sunflower and shea butter will nourish, protect and help remove Suti Organic Cleansing Balmdead skin cells. Olive oil is in there to help soothe and calm inflammation. Calendula helps heal and tighten up the pores.

Suti is an organic brand created by sister-in-law Suzannah Jenkins and Tina Steadman – SuTi!

Suzannah is  a highly qualified Complementary Medicine Therapist has been working with Reiki, Homeopathy, Reflexology, Crystal Healing, Flower Essences and Aromatherapy for over 15 years in her treatment rooms.

She was constantly asked by her clients for skincare preparations to aid in the healing process of their treatments, and began making nourishing balms and facial oils for them to take home.

Her Cleanse range was made as she introduced aromatherapy facials in her practice. Clients loved the results on their skin and they wanted to continue using it at home as part of their daily routine.

Tina studied Visual Communication at the University of South Australia and worked in a Design Studio in Adelaide before moving to London in 2002 to travel, and soon after began working in Publishing. Suzannah introduced Tina to Homeopathy during the pregnancy of her first child, and this ignited Tina’s interest in Natural Healing Therapies.
The brand was lunched in 2010, and the products are lovely. The Suti Cleanse Organic Balm is £33. Find them at sutiskincare.com, and in Glasgow at Wholefoods.
