Guerlain Summer Sun Collection

2 min read

I was strolling through town in the rain when I saw the Guerlain Terracotta windows at my local House of Fraser and felt instantly transported to somewhere sunny, in my head at least!

Guerlain celebrates 30 years this year of its iconic Terracotta range with a unique summer colour collection which encapsulates the ethic of Terracotta – cases cases crafted from wood, both ecologically sound, and, well, absolutely stunning! This lovely collection this year contains, of course, a Terracotta powder. Did you know that there is one Terracotta Bronzing powder sold somewhere on the planet every 20 seconds!?

In 2014, the Terracotta legend lives on! Guerlain is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its iconic product with a gorgeous bronzing powder, Terracotta Sun Celebration (£47), and – for the very first time, as a limited edition – Terracotta Le Parfum (£46), a gorgeous summer fragrance.

The bronzing powder and blush rolled into one, multi-tasking compact that is Terracotta Sun Celebration, creates a lovely sun-kissed glow at a stroke. It’s a soft, lightweight mix of flaming orange, burnished brown, sensual golden shimmer and sunset pink. It’s almost too lovely to use.

The Terracotta Le Parfum, created by Guerlain’s in-house perfumer Thierry Wasser, interprets the legendary powder as a fragrance; “a sun-soaked invitation to explore faraway lands“, Guerlain call it.

As well as this sunny duo, the Guerlain Summer Sun Collection has a new Cils d’Enfer (£18.50) mascara in a watreproof formula, with three beautiful colours represented in lipsticks, nail polishes and lip glosses, guaranteed to look stunning on sunkissed skin.

There are three shades of Rouge Automatique (£25), Nahema, a bold orange, Jardins de Bagatelle, a sunset pink, and Limited Edition Tonka Imperiale, a burnished brown. The Gloss d’Enfer (£25.50), comes in bold orange Nahema Smack, Pink Clip and Browny Clap. I find the last two names a bit odd, but the shades are lovely!

And there are matching nails! Hooray! Colour Lacquer (£18.50) comes in Nahema, Jardins de Bagatelle and Tonka Imperiale.

The Guerlain Summer Sun Collection is available now at House of Fraser stores, and from June 4 nationwide, at Harrods, John Lewis, Debenhams and Selfridges.
