Orange Lips

Orange lips are one of the hottest makeup trends this Spring – embrace them! As seen last Autumn on the Fashion Week catwalks, if you want to make a makeup statement this season, make it with your mouth, coated in bold, bright orange!

At dSquared2 at Milan Fashion Week last September, the makeup had a tropical 1950s feel to it – think think bright prints, lounging at the pool, sipping cocktails, early Mad Men style.

Charlotte Tilbury for MAC created a modern take on a classic retro look, using eye pencil, not liner, squaring off the eyebrow arch in a 50s style, and then those lips! Overdrawn, fuller at the outer corners, in a 50s shape, with emphasis on the Cupid’s bow. The colour – MAC Morange of course – was applied on top of What a Blast! Pro longwear Lip Pencil which was used to contour and define.

She’s the 1950s tropical girl,” explained Charlotte.

You too can be the Tropicana Queen – but if orange is a little bit frightening, then perhaps use a more sheer lipstick or a Clinique Chubby Balm, or a slick of orange gloss. Whatever formula you use, just make sure the colour is orange!

Here’s a few of our faves!
