Chanel's Christmas Collection

The Chanel Christmas colour collection landed on counters last week, and if you haven’t seen it yet, I urge you to have a look. It’s not about glitter, but subtle shimmer, mixed with sophisticated, seductive colour, just perfect for the festive period.I have been playing around with a few pieces from it, and I adore it!

Red is at the heart of the collection with a gorgeous nail colour, Le Vernis, in Rouge Rubis (£18), and a beautiful red lipstick, Rouge Allure Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Précieuse (£25).

For the eyes there is a lovely Ombre Matelassees De Chanel in Charming (£48) – a gorgeous five shade palette, perfect shades, with subtle sparkle, or the single shadow Illusion D’Ombre (£24) in two shades, Initiation and Fatal, which are cream shadows with a depth of shimmer. The Sparkling Mascara Topcoat (£24)  is interesting – in Bronze Platine, you simply brush it over your black or brown mascara for a hint of shimmer and shine. There is a Liquid Eyeliner (£26) in Bronze to complement the mascara.

As well as the red lipstick, La Précieuse, there’s another matte in this season’s hot deep plum colour, this shade is La Desiree. Or, if you prefer, there’s a Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Radieuse (£25).

The Powder Blush in Accent (£31) is a lovely universal rosy beige shade strewn with small pink and golden pearlizers that subtly revive the skintone.

Finally, the Natural Finish Loose Powder in Moon Light (£36) illuminates the face and décolleté in pearl shimmer.

This is beautiful – so soft, and with just the subtle hit of illumination and shimmer.
