Summer Glow

2 min read

Okay, it’s nearly the end of September, but I am trying to cling on to that summer glow as long as I can. And I don’t mean by having a spray tan – though I did indulge in a really lovely Vita Liberata spray tan a week or so ago.

No, I have been using various products to eke out the last of the summer glow from my almost-forgotten holidays. I came across this lovely Kevin.Murphy Shimmer Shine (£19.95, call01282 613413 for stockists) a few weeks ago, and love it.

It’s a hair product that gives shine AND shimmer. It has a lovely golden sheen to it, and if it gets on your skin, it looks fab as well. You just mist it over your hair to give it a lovely glow, and it treats it at the same time. The mist is full of nourishing ingredients, like Vitamins A, C and E, and Baobab, Imortelle and Bamboo Extracts. Use it on damp hair, or after blow drying.

He-Shi’s Quick + Easy Luminous Shimmer (£12.50, harveynichols.com, He-shi.eu, from October) is AMAZING! This liquid bronzer with sparkle looks so good in the bottle, and doesn’t disappoint. It also smells good enough to eat! If you have a fake tan, and then apply this on top, you will glow – perfect for the upcoming party season as well.

Xen-tan flawless logicThe Xen-Tan Flawless Logic Stick (£22.99, feelunique.com) is a great way to keep your summer glow – just on the bits on show!

This easy to use gel-to-powder stick really is simple to use – just slick it across the areas you want to tan – highlighting your decollete and your arms, perhaps? I love this for a quick fix.

Sisley launch four absolutely stunning metallic eyeshadows next month – perfect for a winter glow, and a party look.

Their Phyto Ombre Glow shadows (£30 each, johnlewis.com) are  silky, vibrant and feather-light  – they capture and diffuse the light.

They go on so easily, with a gel-like texture that blends like a velvet powder. And they contain plant-based active ingredients, including extracts of Green Tea leaf, white Lily petals and Camellia oil. There are four to choose from Silver, Pearl, Gold and Amber.
