Origins Smarty Plants CC Cream launches

Origins Smarty Plants CC creamWe’ve had BB creams until they are coming out of our ears, and we have already had a CC cream, from Clinique. I wasn’t a massive fan of that one, but this new CC Cream, Smarty Plants, from Origins is great.

It’s full name is Origins Smarty Plants CC SPF20 Skin Complexion Corrector. A CC cream is essentially a colour corrector – it works on the uneven skin tone, brightening the skin and giving your an even toned look.

To be honest, there isn’t much difference in them – it really is a brand to brand thing with BB and CC creams – try them out until you find one you love. To recap, A BB cream – or Blemish Balm is a sort of ‘do-all’ product, which hydrates, gives some colour, and helps ‘fix’ blemishes.

A CC cream also hydrates, gives a bit of colour – though I’d say a bit less than most BB cream –  and ‘fixes’ the tone in your skin.

BUT! And it’s a big but … this one from Origins does much more! Hence the name Smarty Plants! It has skin-defensive ingredients, which protect, perfect and correct. It utilises anti-oxidants like Green Tea to block free radicals and Vitamin C and E to protect skin from pollution.

It uses something called S.M.A.R.T technology, which was born in the technological industry and Origins scientists have studied this CC cream Origins twoprocess for years, and applied it to skincare. It’s all beyond me, but essentially, if you wear this cream in the heart of a city, in the quiet calm of the countryisde, in hot or cold climates, it will intuitively protect the skin as you need it protected, dependent on whatever environment you are in! Clever, huh?

It contains Salycilic Acid and Chestnut Extract – both these ingredients will help treat blemishes, smoothe the skin and create that flawless complexion we all desire. The correcting part of this product comes form plant-coated mineral pigments which adjust to match a wide range of skin tones. So, this CC cream comes in two shades – Light/Medium, and Medium/Deep.

It smells delicious, reminiscent of Origins famous A Perfect World scent, and it is an excellent summer base product. It does have pretty sheer coverage, so if there are places you want a little extra cover on – a few blemishes, or under your eyes -then apply a concealer, or foundation to those areas, and blend.

Origins CC Cream is available, now, £28, from Origins counters and origins.co.uk
