Melvita Floral Waters get a new look!

2 min read

I’m always going on about Melvita, right? But they are a lovely brand! This month, they relaunch their beautiful Floral Waters in celebration of their 30th Anniversary. The Floral Waters collection has been part of the brand since 1984 and features six pure waters – Damask Rose (sourced in Iran), Orange Blossom (Morocco), Lavender , Roman Chamomile, Witch Hazel and Field Cornflower (all France).

So what is the Melvita Floral Water? Well, essentially it is what used to be called a toner. But don’t mistake these for any old astringent-like toner. These lovely waters are all very different, for very different sklin types and concerns. And they can be used for a number of things – you can set makeup with them, tone the skin with them, they improve the absorption of beauty oils, and are a refreshing mist in the summer heat.

They are created using the traditional process of a steam distillation of a fresh or dry plant. Franck Lextreyt is Melvita’s in-house distiller, and he knows how to extract the very best from the plant for each water.

Damask Rose is perfect for deeply hydrating skin, as well as helping to firm, plump and regenerate the skin. Orange Blossom is suited to dry and delicate skins, and calms, softens and refreshes. Lavender is good for normal to oiuly complexions as it purifies and balances.

Roman Chamomile is traditionally used for its anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, so is great for sensitive skin. Witch Hazel is known for soothing and astringent properties, great for energising the skin. And Field Cornflower has soothing and decongestant properties – great for the eye area, to soothe tired and puffy or irritated eyes.

The Floral Waters are priced from £14.50 to £16, each of them is 200ml, and they are available at melvita.co.uk, Wholefood stores, and selected John Lewis stores
