Vintage at the Merchant City Festival this weekend

If you are in Glasgow this weekend, then make sure you head down to Vintage at the Merchant City Festival. Brought to you by Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway, the festival celebrates all things vintage, and that includes vintage hair and beauty, of course.

So, whilst you are browsing the vintage market (on all weekend) or waiting for the Great Gatsby Fashion Show (Sunday, 2pm, tickets, £10), or enjoying a screening of Bugsy Malone, make sure you look your vintage best! The Vintage Hair and Beauty Salon, run by expert vintage hairdresser Ariana Marcantorio and her team from Vanity Thrills will be there to help festival-goers capture the look of their favourite vintage era.

So, if you are heading to the evening club events perhaps, or just want to try those vicory rolls, then part with a tenner, and be taken back in time, style wise. You can choose decade specific makeovers  – maybe 1940s finger waves or victory rolls are your thing. Or perhaps a 1960s bouffant beehive, or 1980s New Romantic curls are you thing. And some red lipstick and a 1950s black flicked liquid eyeliner look is bound to be popular! And of course there will be a vintage photo booth Retro Me so you can get a fabulous makeover picture!

Vintage at the Merchant City Festival runs this weekend – July 27 and 28 – for more information visit www.vintagefestival.co.uk or like it on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TheVintageFestival
