Strawberries anyone?
It’s men’s semi-final day at Wimbledon today, and I’ll be cheering on Andy Murray. If I was there, I’d probably be indulging in a few strawberries – when in Rome and all that. To get in the mood, I might use the iconic Strawberry Body Butter from The Body Shop in this mornings beauty routine.
The Body Shop’s Body Butters are 20 years old this year, and the strawberry one has a lovely, quirky little tale behind it – and an interesting origin – the jam aisle in the supermarket.
While shopping one of The Body Shop employees wondered “what happens to strawberry seeds in seedless jam?”. After some research, they discovered that the seeds were simply thrown away. The Body Shop decided they could be utilised in their products, and began sourcing the strawberry seeds from jam producers. The seeds were then cold pressed to extract their moisturising oil, and the Strawberry Body Butter we all know and love was born!
