BeneFit Color Collection - Art Deco style

BeneFit release their hotly anticipated new core colour collection next month, just in time to coincide with the equally hotly anticipated movie release of Baz Luhrman’s version of The Great Gatsby!

BeneFit’s color collection is lovely – the packaging is just beautifully Art Deco, inspired by San Francisco’s famous Golden Gate Bridge.

(BeneFit was born in San Fran, in case you didn’t know, and the Golden Gate Bridge was opened in 1937, four years after construction began).

It’s a reformulation of all of their existing products, so everything is brand new and beautiful, but some old favourite shades remain.

In May, BeneFit release three product lines  – Ultra Plush Lip Gloss, Creaseless Cream Shadow and Longwear Powder Shadow. The packaging is adorably retro, and the shade names are what you would expect from BeneFit – bikini-tini, A-lister, fauxmance, thanks a latte, to name just a few.  There are six Ultra Plush Lip Glosses, 10 Creaseless Cream Shadows, and 12 Longwear Powder Shadows.

I’ve given a few lucky testers the products to review, and the reports back are generally good – “the colour goes on true, the application is easy, the powder shadows do last a long time, and the creams don’t crease.”

I’ve tried a few myself, and they’re really easy to use – best applied, I think, smudged with your finger, and then built up and blended for a more intense look. The Lip Glosses are cute, and feel lovely on, and,  come September, they will be joined by Hydra Smooth Lip Color – in ten fab shades. You can see one in this image, below, second from the right.
