New Minerals from Pür Minerals

2 min read

I’ve never been a huge fan of Mineral Makeup. I’ve had it applied professionally, done it myself and always felt it gave me a little bit of a ‘caked’ look, no matter how little I put on. And, despite the reassurance that it was all natural, etc, etc, it really never seemed to work with my dry-patch-prone skin. So, when this new Pür Minerals brand came through my door, I wasn’t in a rush to try it.

But, in a rush at the weekend, I decided to give it a go. The Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF15 (£24) is a foundation, in mineral powder form, to be applied with the Pür Minerals Chisel Makeup Brush (£13). The shade I was sent is Porcelain -and is pretty perfect for my pale skin. The 4-in-1 comes in 10 shades in total.

It contains no harsh chemical dyes, no petroleum-based oils, no fragrances or fillers, just mineral pigments and nourishing ingredients, and again, the product information suggests ALL skin types can use it.  The 4-in-1 stands for foundation, powder, concealer and SPF15.

So, I gave it a go. It’s really easy to use, and is so speedy – you can buff this stuff over your face in about 60 seconds flat. I used it sparingly, and I have to say, it didn’t cake as much as I thought. I’m still not the biggest fan – I find powder, of any type, tends to sit in any fine lines, and that’s what I don’t like. But, I have been using this now for about a week, and I think it is growing on me. I like the fact it has an SPF in it, with my pale skin. The SPF is provided by Titanium Dioxide.

I am looking forward to trying more from this range, which is from the USA, and includes liquid bases, primers, lips, eyes and other products. And in 2014 they have a skincare collection launching.
