Chanel Spring Collection - Printemps Precieux de Chanel
More Spring collections to warm your chilled heart (and fingers and toes!) this morning, this time from Chanel. Who can resist a bit of Chanel? The ‘Printemps Precieux de Chanel’ is the lovely new collection, created by Peter Philips, Chanel Makeup’s Creative Director, and interpreting Coco Chanel’s notion that elegance and beauty should be simple and enjoyable.
This collection is a combination of precision and playfulness, a soft complexion and neutral eyes, with colourful lips and nails. The hero product of the lot is the Exclusive Poudre Signee de Chanel – the Pressed Powder, with Camellias, the double C and little lipsticks embossed on the surface of a delicate powder. It is really stunning. It’s a pale beige shade, warmed by a peach note, but is really far too lovely to ever use!
There’s a lovely Les 4 Ombres (eyeshadow quad) of pearly beige, matte brown, coppery mink and luminous taupe – perfect neutrals, along with a really lovely Stylo Yeux Waterproof – that’s eyeliner. This can be used as a kohl or along the base of lashes, and comes in Santal (brown), Rose (light rosy beige) and Beryl (fresh lilac).
There’s also an Eye Duo, and
a lovely Blusher, and the new shades of Rouge Allure Lipstick in Fantasque, a pearlised soft rose, Precieuse, a peach-warmed beige, Captivante, a shimmering brown with copper and amber, and Envoutante, a shimmering violet-plum, as well as two beautiful matte shades of Rouge Allure Velvet, which I love, and are bound to sell out quickly.
La Favorite is an exuberant coral, and L’Eclatante, a bold pink. There are lovely shades of Lip Gloss and Lip Liners, but it’s all about the nails, isn’t it?
Chanel has somehow managed to continue to create amazing nail colours which people will go on waiting lists for! it all started way back when with Le Vernis in Rouge Noir, and every year there are beautiful shades to choose from. This collection has three – Fracas, a vivid pink, Accessoire, a deep red-brown shade, and Emprise, a natural rosy beige which is slightly opaque.
This pretty pastel collection is anything but the wishy-washy pastels we sometimes get at this time of year. It’s a lovely fresh look, with a bold twist.
