Harvey Nichols Edinburgh 10th Anniversary - exclusive Nails Inc shade

Harvey Nichols celebrates 10 years in Edinburgh this month, and Nails Inc are joining the party with an exclusive nail shade. Called HN10, it’s a refined glitter shade and I was invited to try it out last week.

It’s a refined glitter, for the sophisticated Harvey Nichol customer – nothing too ‘in your face’ or bling, but a subtle glitter that shimmers with different colours depending on how the light hits it. I’ve tried to capture it in the photos.

If you go along to the counter, run by Susan Wringe, who just won Nails Inc manager of the year award by the way, you can buy the shade, or have it applied, perhaps as the two-week manicure, which I had (involves gel coating your nails, polishing and gel-coating as a top coat so it won’t move for two weeks). Susan and her team chose the HN10 shade from a final three selected by Nails Inc owner Thea Green.

Susan said: “It’s been months in the making. The Nails Inc team came up from London with a short0list of three shades, and we tried them out. This one was a clear winner. I think head office were surprised with our choice, but we know our customers. This is sparkly and sophisticated, without being too full-on for our customers. it’s perfect for this time of year as well, a real party manicure shade.”

The HN10 shade will be available from later this month, for £15 for a boxed bottle (the bottle has a super-cute crystal-encrusted cap), and the two-week manicure at the Nails Inc counter in Harvey Nichols is £45 (includes champagne!).
