Madonna madness!
Everyone’s gone Madonna-mad this week following her half-time show at the Super Bowl on Sunday night, her new single release, and the announcement of a World Tour.
Madonna was probably my first ever beauty icon. When I was 13 I wanted to be her, and red was the only colour of lipstick I wanted to wear. She’s had so many different makeovers over the years, but the classic Madonna/Marilyn Monroe/Bombshell look is what people will probably always associate her with.She also still loves to trot out the red lipstick on occasion, and despite being in her 50s, I think she rocks it!
I’m forever on the lookout for new red lipsticks – I test them every week over on my own blog – and I am currently in love with this one, from USA brand, Hourglass. It’s Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Creme Lipstick in Raven and it is one of the creamiest lipsticks I have ever tried.
It goes on beautifully and keeps your lips moisturised with brilliant coverage for hours. It is exclusive to Liberty in the UK, but you can order online from the London department store. And when friends ask where your amazing lipstick is from, you can go all superstar cool, jut like Madonna. ‘Oh, it’s just this uber-cool brand from a London store, you know’. Superstar style!
