Clarins Oils...since 1954!

2 min read

This isn’t a new product at all, just new packaging, and a re-introduction to a Clarins classic – their facial and body treatment oils which were first launched in 1954!

Yes, that’s oh, a lifetime ago, but the formula has never changed. Now, they’re just being repackaged, the facial oils now have a handy dropper for ease of application.

There are three facial oils, all for use in the evening. You just need two drops for the face, and two drops for the neck and decollete. You warm them between your hands, breathe in the aromatic properties, and then using pressing movements, apply from the middle to the sides, to encourage fluid release.

Blue Orchid is for Dehydrated Skin, contains, Blue Orchid, of course, for re-hydration, along with Patchouli, Rosewood and has a base of hazelnut oil, rich in anti-oxidant Vitamin E.

Santal is for Dry Skin, is deeply conditioning and contains Sandalwood and Lavender as well as relaxing Cardamom and the same base as the Blue Orchid.

Lotus is for Combination or Oily Prone Skin and is purifying and calming, and applying oil encourages the skin to produce less of its own. It contains Lotus, for softening and decongesting, and Rosemary, along with Geranium for purifying. The base in this one is the same as the other two.

The Body Oils should be applied to damp skin, and you only need a little – it goes a long way. There are three of these as well.

Tonic Firming and Toning Oil maintains and improves skin tone, elasticity and suppleness and helps prevent stretch marks – it’s brilliant for during pregnancy. Contains Rosemary, Sage and Mint and is heavenly!

Anti-Eau Contouring and Strengthening Oil stimulates and helps eliminate toxins by boosting circulation. Recommended to reduce water retention, the Clarins PR girls tell me that if you apply this before bed, you will get up for the toilet in the night, guaranteed! Contains Broom – that’s the diuretic – as well as Marjoram, Lemon and Geranium.

Relax Soothing and Relaxing Oil is just that – deeply relaxing. Helps relieve muscle fatigue and tension after exercise – and it can improve sleep. Contains Basil oil for its ability to create a sense of well being, and Petit Grain and Camomile for their calming and relaxing properties.

Each of the body oils also has a base of Hazelnut oil rich in Vitamin E.

The Body Oils are £36 each, and the Facial Oils are £29 each, available in the new packaging from January next year at Clarins counters and clarins.co.uk
