Light Up Your Beauty Routine!
I don’t know about you, but when I was a teenager I desperately wanted one of those dressing-room mirrors with the lights round them you see movie stars sitting in front of, or actors peering into, trying to remember their lines before going on stage.
So, its no surprise that I am in love with the NEW CID iBlush (£24) which actually has lights on the compact – this gorgeous blusher/highlighter duo is the latest addition to the ‘light-up’ range from NEW CID Cosmetics. Okay, it’s a gimmick, and I think if I actually put the lights on in a dark pub/street/cinema/etc people would think I’d gone a bit mad. But I’m a sucker for something a bit different in my makeup box!

The actual product itself is not a gimmick – it’s great. The blusher is a warm pink shade with tiny subtle golden hints. It’s one of those colours that works well on most skin-tones, and the finish is satin smooth. It’s all about how you apply blusher, and the one rule to remember is less is more. It’s a buildable product – you can add more, but you can’t take it off once its on!
The compact also contains a golden highlighter. I’ve always been a bit wary about highlighters – should you wear the during the day, or are they a nightime only product? Well, this one is probably good to go in the daytime hours. It adds a lovely, fresh dewy sheen. Think about where the light will hit your face the most – and apply it there. Again, just be careful with the amount you apply.
You’ve got no excuse with a light-up mirror to check it in, after all!
