New Year Treats with 5pm

It’s a new year – start 2020 as you meant to go on, by treating yourself. It’s also the start of a new decade, so nothing better than a rejuvenating spa break, to recharge those batteries after the Christmas break before you tackle what’s ahead.

There are loads of brilliant Big Deals at 5pm Spa and Beauty. Let’s have a look at five of the best for 2020.

First up is a Two Treatment Spa Day with Lunch at the Marine Hotel in Troon. This Elemis Spa Day includes a two-course lunch, a choice of two 25 minute treatments and full use of the leisure club. Plenty of time to drift around in the heated pool, which has spectacular views across the Firth of Clyde. The spa also boasts a sauna, a steam room, Jacuzzi and spa pool. This deal has options for one or two people – so you can use it as a me-time escape, or a treat for two. It’s £49 for one, and £89 for two. You can take this deal from January 3 to March 30.

The treatments you can choose from are Elemis taster facial, back neck and shoulder massage, scalp massage, Elemis feet or hand ritual, or cleansing salt back scrub.

How about a Bespoke Advanced Facial at Beauty Boutique & Day Spa in Glasgow’s city centre? This is a lovely little haven  – as soon as you step inside, you feel as if you have escaped from the world for a while. There are three options to choose from in this deal  – an exfoliating chemical peel, an anti-ageing chemical peel, or a smoothing dermaplaning treatment.  On the day, clients will get a full consultation from a therapist about which one would be best for their skin. You can take this deal from Tuesday to Saturday until March 28.

At the Macdonald Holyrood Hotel in the heart of the nation’s capital, sit back, relax, and enjoy a fantastic Spa Day with Two Treatments, Cream Tea and Prosecco – for one or two, for just £50 or £99. There’s also a heated swimming pool, and a state-of-the-art gym to use.  Choose from the following treatments: File and polish for hands, File and polish for feet, Superfood pro-radiance facial, Freestyle deep tissue massage, or Best foot forward treatment. You can take this offer from Monday to Thursday until the end of March. If you want to use it on Fridays and Sundays, you can pay a £15 supplement per person.

Over on the west side, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Westerwood Spa and Golf Resort, there’s a Big Deal for one or two that is a day of pampering. It includes two 25-minute treatments each, afternoon tea and a mocktail, and full use of the leisure facilities. Those include a swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi, as well as the hot tub, steam room, experience shower, heated loungers and a new extended relaxation chamber. Phew!

Treatment choice is Back, neck and shoulder massage, Elemis taster facial, Salt and oil scrub
, Body polish, Invigorating foot treatment or File and polish (hands or toes)

The offer is available Monday to Thursday from 9am to 7pm, until the end of March. You can add on additional treatments for a 20% discount, which can be arranged with the spa when booking, and there is a 10% discount on additional food and drink, plus any leisure club retail items, should you fancy a bit of shopping.

Maybe a spa day isn’t for you, maybe you want to relax differently – at the gym, for example? Or maybe you just need to get rid of all that festive excess! Either way, this Big Deal is perfect – a Three Month Sport, Health and Fitness Membership at the University of Glasgow gym. The well-equipped Glasgow Uni gym is based on Oakfield Avenue in the West End, and best of all – you don’t have to be a student to enjoy it.

You can spend your winter warming up in the 25-metre swimming pool, sauna and steam room. You can also try out the Pulse Cardio suite, Powerplay strength suite and REVOLVE indoor cycling studio, as well as the squash club and sports hall. AND, as if this wasn’t enough, there are over 55 group exercise classes per week to choose from.

This Big Deal gives one person a three-month membership for £49. It’s available up until April 30, 2020. You can access the leisure club from 6.30am to 2pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.
