Mother's Day 5pm Treats
It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday, and it might be a little different from other years with the current coronavirus pandemic. As my mum is over 70, I really shouldn’t spend much time with her this weekend, or take her out, as planned, for Afternoon Tea.
If you find yourself in the same position, it might be an idea to buy mum a voucher for a real treat she can take later in the year when things are, hopefully, back to normal. There are loads of deals on the 5pm Spa and Beauty site – that’s our business!

You can take this deal Monday to Friday (Friday bookings will incur a £5 supplement), and it’s bound to be a wonderful day. The Spa at the hotel has a full-size indoor pool, a Jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna. Mum can lounge about in a robe and slippers, and enjoy a two-course lunch with a glass of Prosecco, and choose between a 25-minute back, neck and shoulder massage, or a 25-minute express facial. MASSAGE OF FACIAL FOR ONE – SPA PERSONA, BUCHANAN HOTEL, DRYMEN, FROM £19
This Big Deal is for one person, available seven days a week, until the end of August, but note that there is a £10 supplement for weekend bookings (Fri/Sat/Sun). There are two options in this deal – Option One is for a choice of either a 25-minute relaxation massage or a 25-minute complexion boosting facial.
Option Two is for a 55-minute massage, a 55-minute facial, or a 55-minute combination of them both. You do need to pay an extra £10 (directly to Spa Persona) to use the heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. But as you are in one of the country’s loveliest locations, why not take in a Lochside stroll after your treatment?
SPRING SPAY DAY WITH FIZZ – VILLAGE SPA EDINBURGH, FROM £59
You can buy this deal for one at £59, or for two at £115 – take your mum and treat yourself too! The deal is for three ESPA treatments – a personalised facial, a back, neck and shoulder massage, and a relaxing scalp massage. A glass of Prosecco is included, and you can use all the amenities and facilities, including a 20-metre heated swimming pool, steam room, sauna and whirlpool spa. Guests wanting a workout can make use of fully air-conditioned spaces with state-of-the-art gym equipment, the latest cardio and resistance training equipment, a spinning studio with 40 bikes and a fitness studio with a variety of different classes. SPA TREATS FOR ONE OR TWO – PARK WEST LUXURY SPA, FROM £19
Park West Luxury Spa is a relaxation retreat tucked away in an elegant Edwardian townhouse and gardens in Hamilton. The team of experienced therapists are specialists in deep tissue massage, and the spa uses Elemis and Skintruth products. This deal has three options – send mum on her own, or go with her.
Option one is for a spa session for one person with one 30 minute treatment. Option two adds on a second treatment, and Option three is for a spa session for two people with two 30 minute treatments each. Treatments to choose from are Swedish back massage, a foot scrub, file and gel for hands or feet, Oriental head massage, skin booster facial.
Prices are £19, £35 and £62 for Options One, Two and Three, respectively.
