Beauty Bargain of the Week - Boots Seventeen Lip Lustre

2 min read

We can all spend a fortune on beauty products, but we don’t need to. Every week, I’m going to bring you my ‘Beauty Bargain of the Week‘  – a product I’ve used, and would recommend, and that, on most occasions, costs less than a fiver! What’s not to like!

This week’s Beauty Bargain comes from the revamped Seventeen range at Boots. I’m going top put this out there – I really don’t like the rebranding. Maybe its not really aimed at me, but I kind of liked it when it was Boots 17 – and it is a bit confusing, because they still use the number ’17’ for Twitter and Facebook. The packaging for these new Lip Lustre lacquer is, well, a bit cheap, and very, very ordinary. I don’t think there is anything about this that would attract me to it on the Seventeen stand.

I have tried a few this week, however, and thankfully, it seems, Seventeen is still good quality, despite the rather dull new look. These lip lustres probably sit alongside Rimmel’s massively popular Apocalips, which I reviewed here, on my own blog.

They’re a gloss/lipstick hybrid – lip lacquers, I guess, and they feel lovely on the lips. They last a decent amount of time, are easy to apply, and have a decent pigment level. They matte down after the initial high shine effect, but you can just top them up for more glossiness!

Not bad for just £3.99. And there are 10 shades to choose from, some of them sparkly, some of them not, bold and bright, or neutral nudes.
The shade names are Wild One, Talk that Talk, Stop and Stare, Hotting Up, The Lucky One, 3 Little Words, Kiss the Stars, Polished, Ice Maiden and Queen of Diamonds.

Boots Seventeen Lip Lustre, available now, £3.99 each, Boots stores nationwide, and boots.com.  Keep up to date with all the latest news from 17 by visiting their Facebook page www.facebook.com/17/cosmetics or tweet @Official17
