Have you got your advent calendar yet? There are SO many to choose from out there, it’s crazy. Some of the beauty calendars are ridiculous prices, but if you love a brand, and can afford it, why not indulge.
LUSH launched its first advent calendar ever on August 29 – and it sold out almost as soon as it launched! I wrote a piece in the Daily Record again this year on beauty advent calendars – you can read it on my own blog, here.
It’s impossible to list all the beauty advent calendars out there, but here are six of my favourites – some of them may already be sold out or selling fast, so be quick.
I think this is just the second time MAC has had a calendar, and I like the star design. It contains 24 windows, with a mix of full and mini size products behind each door. Here is the full list of what you will find in this calendar.

It’s a great way to try some of the MAC products, and the contents are worth £265. And who doesn’t love mini lipsticks and little bottles of a product? I know I do!
JO LOVES CHRISTMAS ADVENT CALENDAR, £300, joloves.com
This one is expensive, but it’s a luxury brand, and if you have ever smelled any of the Jo Loves fragrances, you will appreciate how fantastic they are. You get a full-size Christmas Tree Home candle in Day 25 of this calendar, and trust me, it smells EXACTLY like a fresh Christmas tree – it’s that good. There’s a mix of fragrance and candles, as well as body products in the calendar, including best-selling fragrances like Gardenia, Pomelo, and Jo by Jo Loves, as well as the seasonal scents like Log Fires and Plum Pudding.
L’OCCITANE LUXURY ADVENT CALENDAR, £89, loccitane.co.uk, and L’Occitane boutiques
The magical L’Occitane Luxury calendar that twists to reveal hidden drawers – it’s super-fun and had me flummoxed when I first opened it – had to get my engineer husband to show me how it worked. I was having a moment! The gorgeous design is packed with L’Occitane favourites, including Immortelle, Almond and HERBAE. This is a really great calendar and the price is good too. There’s also a £49 Classic Advent available, both featuring the beautiful drawings of Taiwanese illustrator Hsinping Pan, which capture the beauty and fragility of nature. The classic calendar tells the story of the Provence Almond Tree as you open each day’s door.
THE BODY SHOP ULTIMATE ADVENT CALENDAR, £99, The Body Shop stores, and thebodyshop.co.uk
This year The Body Shop has three beauty advent calendars. This one, the Ultimate contains products worth over £249, featuring the Drops of Youth collection, as well as some full-size products. The design is inspired by the streets of Brighton, where founder Anita Roddick opened the first store in 1976. The Deluxe and Beauty calendars are £69, and £49. But be quick, these sell out super-fast every year.
RITUALS: THE RITUAL OF ADVENT 3D TREE, £89.90, rituals.com
This tree-shaped calendar lights up, so also makes the perfect centrepiece to your Christmas decorations. Adorned with lights and numbered gifts, each parcel contains a Rituals treat, and there are four candles – one for each Sunday of advent. There’s a 2D tree as well, for £59.90, which also contains four candles.
MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT ADVENT CALENDAR, £40, Boots, and boots.com
This bold green jewel-shaped calendar contains hero products from brands including Liz Earle, Champneys, Soap & Glory, No7, and Botanics. There are 24 windows on this one, all of them with a great treat, and for every calendar sold, £2 goes to the Macmillan charity.
