Harvey Nichols Launches The Rihanna Book.

Rihanna is launching a ‘visual autobiography’ and Harvey Nichols will stock it exclusively SIX days before the global release. The luxury retailer has announced its partnership with Phaidon for ‘Rihanna’.

You’ll be able to pre-order your copy on harveynichols.com from now until October 19, for delivery before the global release on October 24. ‘Rihanna´will also be available in Harvey Nichols stores in the UK and Ireland from October 19, with an unveiling of a dedicated window display in Knightsbridge across Seville Street to celebrate the launch in the flagship store.

Basically, this is a massive Rihanna photo album – jam-packed with snaps from her childhood in Barbados to her worldwide tours. From quintessential fashion moments to private time with friends and family, the book showcases intimate photographs of her life as a musician, performer, designer, and entrepreneur.

I am so excited to share this collection of incredible images. I’m very grateful to the talented photographers and artists who contributed. We’ve been working on the book for over five years and I’m really happy to be able to finally share it with everybody –  Rihanna.

The book, published by Phaidon, is a big old coffee table tome, measuring 12-5/8 x 16-1/2 inches, and as well as all those photos, the 504 pages also contain 11 special inserts, including a removable poster, and seven gatefolds. The cover is gorgeous, and it has wrap-around cloth binding, and weighs 15 pounds! It’s accompanied by a printed black carrying case.

And the price is… £120. WOW! If you love Rihanna enough to spare the cash, then that’s how much it will set you back to have this big old Rihanna photo album in your home. I’m not sure I love anyone enough to pay £120 for a book about them, but that’s just me.

Pre-order online by Saturday, October 19,  for delivery by Monday, October 21.  The book will then be available in all Harvey Nichols stores in the UK and Ireland from October 19.
