Polished Summer Feet

3 min read

Granted, I’ve not had any sandals on for over a week now, but it is summer, and if you are heading on holiday or an eternal optimist like me, then it’s time you got yourself some polished summer feet.

Using a foot cream is hugely important in summer, as your feet can develop more hard skin and calluses in sandals, particularly if they are the clog soled kind I love.

SVR Xerial 30/50 Extreme Crème Pieds Feet Care (£10, lookfantastic.co.uk), promises to reduce and prevent corns and calluses in just a week.

Formulated with Shea Butter to intensely nourish dry skin, the treatment acts like a pumice to slough off dead cells and leave feet soft and smooth. Sinking in effortlessly without leaving a greasy finish, the cream can also be used on the thickened skin of elbows and knees to leave the whole body silky and supple. It’s free of parabens and fragrances, and should be used daily until your skin is smooth!

But, a foot cream alone is not enough for your poor feet in the summer months – so treat them to a salon pedicure, with one of the great 5pm deals.

A pedicure is a wonderful thing – super relaxing, just sit back and let someone pamper those feet of yours. Remember to check with the salon exactly what the pedicure involves, as they will differ from place to place.

At Hair In The City in Glasgow’s High Street, you can get a deal for a Pedicure with Artistic Two Weeks Gel Polish for £25. This way your tootsies will look fantastic in all those sunny seaside Instagram shots you know you will post.

Finally, at James Dun’s House, Aveda Lifestyle Hair & Beauty Salon, a Shellac pedicure is £25, and a simple polish version is just £18.

These are just a few of the deals available right now on 5pm Spa and Beauty  – so take a good look at the site.

if you really want to have a go at your own pedicure, then one of my favourite nail polish brands of the moment is Dr’s Remedy, and they have some fantastic shades for summer, including Peaceful Pink Coral, Trusting Turquoise, and metallic Subtle Sunshine.

The brand was founded by two New York podiatrists, and the polishes are vitamin-enriched and hydrate and help brittle nails. They are £11.95 each and you can find them online at feetlife.co.uk
