Jo Malone Solid Perfume Palette

What a fab parcel to receive last week – the gorgeous new Jo Malone London Fragrance Combining™ Solid Palette. I love a solid perfume. There’s something quite sensual, and very vintage about solid fragrance.

And also, I just love when my beauty mail contains something genuinely new and interesting – and that’s what this is. It’s also a cute way of buying into the Jo Malone London brand, without splashing out on a big bottle of cologne.

It’s a pretty simplistic, classic design, and the little palette comes in a pouch, to pop into your handbag, or even your pocket, if you wanted to. The palette fans out to reveal a place for two solid fragrances.

This is where the fun comes in – you can choose two fragrances from a selection of the brand’s ten most-loved, and create a fragrance combination to suit.

I was sent two scents with my palette – Blackberry & Bay, and Wood Sage & Sea Salt. The other eight to choose from are Lime Basil & Mandarin, Basil & Neroli, Pomegranate Noir, English Pear & Freesia, Nectarine Blossom & Honey, Peony & Blush Suede, Mimosa & Cardamom, and Oud & Bergamot. A few of those are Cologne Intense.

The solid perfume formula contains pure beeswax, and is smooth on application. You can apply to wrists, neck, decolletage – even the ends of your hair. Wear them alone, or combine, and when you want a new combination, or your solid scent is finished, pop it out with the included pin, and choose a new one.

The initial purchase will cost you £24 for the palette, and £14 or £16 for the Solid Perfume – the Cologne Intense are £2 more.

It’s all packaged beautifully, and for £52 it’s a lovely gift for a Jo Malone fan – if they haven’t bought it for themselves already!
