Some colours are synonymous with the festive season, and red and gold are definitely two of them. Gorgeous reds and golds are brilliant makeup shades too –  for lips, eyes and nails.

Let’s start with lips. Gorgeous red lips look even more festive with a golden glittery shine through them. And if you are feeling really brace, how about a full gold lip? Perhaps a bright pillar box red is the lip you want to see you through the festive season? I know it’s my go-to all year round!

Gold looks brilliant on nails. As does red. Combine the two for a truly glamorous, festive look! A deep red with a golden glitter top coat looks brilliant for a night out. Or try some nail art, and add some red heart tips, perhaps, to a golden nail. YSL’s golden glittery nail polish is an absolute festive season must!

A hint of gold glitter on your eyes make it all Christmassy and right in my, er, eyes. Sorry. I’m not overly sure red looks brilliant on the eye area, but if you can pull it off go with it.
