Get the latest 'Glass Hair' trend

2 min read

So, here’s the latest Hollywood hair trend – Glass Hair. Yep, Kim Kardashian has it. So does Jourdan Dunn. So what the heck is it? Er, a shiny bob, I think.

It’s definitely shiny. Very shiny. And mostly bobbed. It’s probably not that attainable for many of us. Look at my latest Instagram image – bottom of the post – that’s about as near to ‘glass hair’ as my over-processed barnet gets, but back in the day I did once have a gloriously shiny bue black bob that was DEFINITELY glass hair. It’s an alternative to the waves we’ve all been sporting for a few years now, but, well, they just seem so much easier, right?!

So, if you fancy it, then you might want to book into one of the many salons on 5pm Spa and Beauty and get yourself a super-sleek, super-shiny hair makeover.

And if you have to use heated appliances to achieve this look – and are still determined to do so – then you might also want to get yourself some products. This fantastic Philip Kingsley Preen Cream, £19.50, was inspired by a stroll through the park – Philip Kingsley created Pree Cream to simulate the effects of duck preening which leaves each feather smooth and shiny, yet protected. How cute is that? It’s an ultra-lightweight protective styling cream which provides hold for fine and medium textured hair. The unique combination of vitamins, antioxidants and conditioning agents moisturises every strand.

But let’s get to the salon first. Kennedy & Co in Glasgow’s West End has great Monday to Thursday Cut + Blow Dry offers on 5pm Spa and Beauty. At just £25 for cut, blow dry and a free Kerastase Ritual Masque, get in there and get yourself that glass hair! But remember, they’re hairdressers, not magicians!
