REN launch Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic

REN launch their latest AHA product this month – their Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic.

AHAs, or Alpha Hydroxy Acids have sparked a lot of debate in the beauty world of late. Nothing like industrial strength acids, like hydrocholric or sulfuric, cosmetic products containing AHAs – and usually glycolic acid and lactic acid – are intended to exfoliate and cleanse the skin, and are usually fruit or plant based.

Some say they’re too harsh on our skin, and we’re using them too much, but it’s all about how you use them.

Some blends of AHAs can help promote skin exfoliation and stimulate skin renewal. My favourite Alpha-H Liquid Gold contains glycolic acid, and is strong enough to only be used at night, and you MUST follow with sunscreen the next day.

But REN’s latest launch is a day and night product and the AHA in it is lactic acid, sourced from yeast fermentation, and is a water soluble acid, capable of dissolving the bonds that hold dull, dead, skin on the surface. It also, say REN, helps firm and plump the skin by promoting new cell turnover.

Used wisely AHAs are great for the skin, and when combined with BHAs – in this case Salicin, from Willow Bark Extract, they can really enhance your skin’s radiance and glow, by sloughing off those old cells.

This product also contains Azelaic Acid Precursor, from wheat, rye and barley, and will boost radiance, improve hydration, and boost elasticity.

This tonic should be used on clean skin, before your regular skincare routine. Just press down on well-pump with a cotton pad until saturated and sweep over your face and neck.
