Bobbi Brown's Crushed Lip Colour

Are you over matte lipstick? Maybe even just a little bit? I have to admit I love it. But I bought yet another tube of Smashbox Always On in Bang Bang red the other week, and, as the weather turned, my mouth just didn’t feel so great.

All matte lipstick is drying. And whilst the new mattes – liquid and stick form – do have all sorts of ingredients in them to stop them being as dry as the mattes I recall from my youth, they just aren’t nourishing enough.

So maybe it’s time for something a bit more nourishing on the lips, and that’s where this new lippy from Bobbi Brown comes in. Bobbi’s Crushed Lip Colour launched last month, and comes in 20 shades – from nudes to deep berries, with everything inbetween.

It does have a slight matte effect – let’s face it, it’s never going to leave us – but it’s more of a stained, just-kissed effect, as opposed to a perfect lip.  It’s a hybrid balm/lipstick, and it’s rich and nourishing thanks to ingredients Vitamin E, Vitamin C and beeswax.

It feels great on, and the idea behind this lipstick is to be able to just slick it on an go – which definitely does not happen with my current red liquid matte!
