Follow the Sun with Bobbi Brown

2 min read

This Bobbi Brown collection has been on counters for a month or so now, but it’s still worth flagging up to you, because it’s lovely, full of new products, and I have my mind on sunnier climes at the moment!

Not that I am planning on going to Antigua, Maui, or Santa Barbara any time soon – those three destinations are the inspiration behind the collection.

Bobbi Brown 's Follow the Sun Collection

The hero product is the Limited Edition Illuminating Bronzing Powder (£30) in those three shades – Antigua, Maui, and Santa Barbara. It’s a gorgeous soft pressed powder, made with sheer mica powder and flat pearls, which reflects light and enhances the natural glow of the skin. It comes with a debossed powder design, but be warned that disappears pretty quickly.

Use on the apples of the cheeks, the forehead, the nose and the chin – whever the sun naturally hits the face.

My other favourite thing in this collection is the New Glow Stick (£26). In the same packaging as the Skin Stick Foundation, this is an ultralight bronzing/highlighting/illuminating stick which is so easy to use, and can be used on bare skin, or on top of foundation. Use it like a bronzer – swipe it on cheekbones, forehead, nose and chin. There are eight shades – Nude Beach, Island, Desert Sun, Sunkissed, Bikini, Island Palm, Beach Babe (Limited Edition), and Suntan (Limited Edition)

There’s a Limited Edition Lip Gloss (£21) which is conditioning – thanks to aloe extract – and can be  sheer or sparkling, depending on the shade you choose. Popsicle is a barely there sheer, whilst Citrus and Bare Sparkle both have high shimmer.

Finally in this collection, there’s the Limited Edition Eye Gloss (£19.50). I think eye glosses are a bit of a niche product, and can be difficult to wear, but really you shouldn’t be that scared of them. This all-new liquid shadow formula glides on lids to deliver a glossy shine. It’s not sticky, and can be worn alone, or on top, or added to glitter to create a glossy sparkle.

There are three shades here – Island Pink, Beach Nude, and Nude. You just apply the flat side of the angled applicator on to the skin, and when you twist the gloss, it comes out of the wee applicator holes. I would also suggest buffing it in with a brush.
