New Clarins Hydra Essentiel Collection

The beauty industry can be frustrating at times. Take this new Clarins Hydra Essentiel collection. It replaces the Hydra Quench collection which was my absolute favourite.

My absolute, absolute, favourite, was their Hydra Quench Rich Cream, which saw my poor dry skin through many a winter! But they discontinued that, and now the whole collection has had a relaunch and despite my initial frustration, it is a nice update. Clarins NEW Hydra Essentiel Range

The Hydra Essentiel Collection is for dull, dehydrated skin, and Clarins research has identified that the sudden temperature changes we are exposed to on a daily basis cause us skin dehydration. When we go out, travel on buses or trains, shop in an air-conditioned store, after a workout in the gym, we are exposed to as many as 17 thermal shocks a day, and so is our skin. The temperature changes afffect our skin, but Clarins have found the solution!

The Madagascar-dwelling Organic Leaf of Life manages to remain full of water, despite sudden temperature changes, and Clarins have harnessed this into this new range, with two core products. The Bi-phase Serum (£44) is an invisible, comfortable bi-phase serum for the most dehydrated skin. Use before your mosituriser, whenever needed.

As well as the serum, there are a variety of textures of moisturiser for different skin types, different climates, and different needs.

The Silky Cream SPF15 for Normal to Dry Skin (£36) has a fine, melting texture, which hydrates immediately. There is a Rich Cream – hoorah! (available online only), which is for very dry skins, and also a Silky Cream without the SPF.

And there is a Cooling Gel (£36) for normal to combination skin, and a Milky Lotion SPF15 (£36) for a lighter take on the range.

The new Clarins Hydra-Essentiel range is available now at Clarins counters, and clarins.co.uk
