Festive Nails, Birthstone Nails

I love a new nail polish. When I was younger I used to change my nails pretty much every night – clearly had nothing much else to do!

I love  a Shellac manicure occasionally, and going to the salon for any sort of manicure is an absolute treat (and there are plenty fab 5pm salons to choose from!), but I also love doing my own, and I’ve just come across two new nail polish ranges that I’m loving for the festive season.

Toma’s Pantomime range is six lovely shades, each of them with a cute name, perfect for panto season! There’s Once Upon A Time, Cinders, Fairy Godmother, Wicked Witch, Boo and Happily Ever After to choose from. Each polish is available at madbeauty.com for £7.30 each.

I’ve never heard of this brand before  – there are so many beauty brands out there! – but for the price tag, the polish is great, and the colour collections they have are superb.

The other nails I’ve been perusing this week have been the Birthstone collection by Avon. Each month has a colour – I was, topically, sent Topaz (December), Ruby (July – my birthday month), and Opal (October) on the day of the result of the US Presidential Election!

I didn’t feel like wearing red white and blue though! The other colours are Garnet Red (January), Amethyst Purple (Feburary), Aquamarine Blue (March), Diamond Clear (April), Emerald Green (May), Pearl Pink (June), Peridot Green (August), Sapphire Blue (September), and Citrine Orange (November).

I love this idea, perfect for stocking fillers with a personal touch. I also love the gemstone cut bottles. And they’re a great buy at £6 each, avon.co.uk
