Beach Colour Beauty

4 min read

Beaches – gotta love them. All glorious golden, shimmery sands, deep blue seas. and pure blue skies. Oh yeah, and the big , bright yellow ball of sunshine to finish the picture!

Summer beauty utilises all  these lovely beach colours in eye shadows, powders, glitters, nails and more. So. I decided to literally paint a beach scene with beach colour beauty products! Okay I’m not going to win any art prizes, but it was fun to do, and you get the idea, right?!

The beach - with beach colours!

Bright yellow sunshine, shimmery golden sands, and multi-tonal sea and sky, thanks to the likes of Illamasqua, Sara Hill, Clinique, Bourjois, Sisley and more! Gorgeous turquoises, deep blues, bright yellows, and shimmery nudes. Below, is my drawing with product details!

All the products used in the picture

Eye pencils are great for adding a pop of colour  – Sisley’s Phyto Eye Twists (£29, sisley-paris.co.uk) are soft and chunky, waterproof, all-in-one beauties,  and give off great pigment. Try new shade Amethyst or Lagoon for deep sea shades. Illamasqua’s fantastic Sketch Sticks (£15, illamasqua.com) from their new Hypnotica collection are use-anywhere crayons. Beachy shades of Free – a lovely sky blue, and Higher – a bold bright yellow, are great fun.

Beach Colour Beauty Eye Pencils

Illamasqua’s Eye Pencil in Vow (£16) is a gorgeous creamy, beachy sand shade, perfect for the waterline. Their Navy is a deep, bold blue, great for a summer evening look. Bourjois Clubbing Contour Waterproof Eye Pencil in Sea Blue Soon (£4.99, boots.com), is a lovely turquoise creamy pencil that will last through beach and bar and then some!

Illamasqua’s Cream Pigment in Hollow (£18) was the base for my sandy beach scene. This pigment is fantastic for adding colour anywhere you like. Also creating some sandy vibes for me was Illamasqua’s Powder Shadow in Slink (£16.50) – this has a lot of lovely shimmer to it, and Illamasqua’s Powder Shadow in Hype (£16.50), a bright bold, canary sunshine yellow, only for the brave, or just for adding a fun hint of colour.

Bobbi and Illamasqua beachy shades

Bobbi Brown’s lovely Sunkissed Pink Eye Palette has four super shades, the one I used here for a sandy vibe was the shimmery gold. Finally, for the sandy shimmer, Sara Hill Glitter in Holy Grail (£15, sarahill.com). This gorgeous glitter is so bright, and a little goes a long, long way! Add to your summer evening beauty routine to show off that gorgeous sunkissed glow to full potential.

Illamasqua’s deep turquoise green Powder Shadow in Victim (£16.50) has as much depth as the sea itself. A wash of this on eyes, and some coral lips, and you have beautiful summer beach beauty.Or perhaps the even more green Burst is better – or the two together?

Clinique’s lovely Lid Pops (£15, clinique.co.uk) don’t give off as much pigment as they promise, but Surf Pop and Aqua Pop are two gorgeous sea blue shades for colour novices.

Sara Hill Metallic Pigment in Monday Blues (£17) created my blue sky, along with Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paint in Laguna (£4.99, superdrug.com), and another blue from Sara Hill – Electric Blue Metallic Pigment (£8.60, was £17). These Sara Hill pigments are fantastic – a little goes a long way, and you can just add a hint of colour, or build them up for a bright pay-off.

Last but not least, Illamasqua’s lovely deep, dark, shimmery, navy blue nail polish, Phallic (£14.50), crated the deepest edges of my sea. This is a great shade for summer – trust me. With a gorgeous tan, add a bold red lip, simple eyes and these dark nails for a Mediterranean glamour look.
