Cult Beauty - Alpha H Liquid Gold

2 min read

Whilst it’s always great to celebrate new launches in the beauty world- and there are more than enough of them to do that on this blog every week – there are some cult beauty products we just love to celebrate. Classics that have stood the test of time, maintained their best-selling status, and products that many of us couldn’t live without. So, let’s celebrate one every week!

ALPHA H LIQUID GOLD Cult Beauty - Alpha H's Liquid Gold

Have you heard of Alpha H? If not, then go look them up now (well, once you’ve finished reading this post, okay?).

They’re an Australian brand, founded by Michelle Doherty, and owned, operated  and manufactured on the Gold Coast in sunny Queensland (how nice!). It’s family run, with global success, thanks to the efficacy and ingenuity of the products.

It’s pioneering, and dynamic, and their active prodicts really are fabulous – trust me.

Michelle created the products out of a real need to change her own skin after experiencing frustration with market offerings that failed to perform. This practical grounding is at the heart of the brand’s dedication to effectively rejuvenate and replenish the skin of real women with real lives, whatever their skin type or lifestyle.
It’s a luxury brand – they don’t skimp or cut corners on the critical high percentages of active ingredients in their products.
And Liquid Gold is their absolute hero product. It’s not for everyone. Let’s start there.
It’s an active product, the ‘original acid toner’, which uses a state of the art, low pH delivery system to effectively diminish wrinkles, pigmentation and sun damage.
So, it is best for mature, sun damaged, prematurely aged, or acne-scarred skin. Beauty editors love it. You use it at night, and it will brighten and revitalise tired skin.
It’s only used every other night, simply pour it on to a cotton pad and sweep over the face, neck and decollete – it’s that easy.
The ingredients are 5% cosmetic grade Gylcolic Acid, licorice extract and silk proteins.
Alpha H say it works as a toner, exfoliator, serum and moisturiser, and I was sceptical about that. But if you apply at night, your skin really does feel moisturised. In fact, if you add a moisturiser after it, it lessens the effect, so for a more intense treatment, don’t.
It’s essentially a peel-type treatment, and you will notice the difference in the look and feel of your skin quite quickly. Celebrating 15 years on the market, Alpha H is also celebrating being stocked in M&S Beauty from this January.
It’s also available on QVC, where they do the most amazing offers – so keep an eye on the website for those. And you will find it on a host of beauty e-commerce sites.
This is one of those secret-but-not-so-secret-to-those-in-the-know products, and I would say it’s definitely  worth cult status. Check it out!
