Chanel's Spring LA Sunrise Collection

2 min read

If you need an incentive to get to the end of January, then here it is in makeup form. Chanel’s LA Sunrise collection – out at the end of the month –  inspired by mornings in the US West Coast city, is so vibrant, bright and alive, it made me just want to sit and stare at imagery of LA on the internet for the rest of the day – and then go there, of course!

California Dreaming

Yes, not very productive, but trust me, it has that effect. Inspired by the rising sun hitting gorgeous greenery and architecture in Los Angeles, this collection is simple, yet stunning, and if you love bold and bright, then you are going to want it all.

Chanel Beaute Spring 16 Collection La Sunrise

The hero product of the collection is the Exclusiv Creation Blush in Limited Edition Sunkiss Ribbon (£44). Representing an LA sunrise on the beach, this gorgeous compact has flamboyant colours of red and pink, alongside complementary nudes and peaches. It’s just lovely. Use the colours individually, or sweep your brush over and sweep it on. Chanel Spring 16 Creation Exclusive Sunkiss Ribbon

However, my favourite piece in this collection has to be the Les 4 Ombres Multi Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in Limited Edition Tissé Beverley Hills (£40). This lovely quad has four shades – blue to represent the sky and sea, green to represent the vegetation, pink to represent the dawn, and purple to represent the creativity and artisty of the city. I love these shades, perfect for creating a really alternative eye. And they are complemented by Le Volume De Chanel Mascara in Limited Edition Ardent Purple (£25)Chanel Spring 16 Beverly Hills EyesFocus still on the eyes, if you’ll pardon the pun, and these great shades of Illusion D’Ombre Long-Wear Luminous Eyeshadow (£25). There’s Griffith Green, and Limited Edition Moonlight Pink and Ocean Light. I love these single shadows, and the green and blue are my absolute favourite eyeshadow shades. There are matching Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliners (£19), in Fervent Blue, Pacific Green and Purple Choc.

For lips, it’s Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine (£25) in three lovely spring shades – Shipshape, an amazing orange, Mighty, a bright pink, and Energy, a raspberry red. And to top it all off, Le Vernis Gloss Nail Colour in Sunset Trip (£18), an absolutely stunning, bright, bold purple shade, which I am sure will end up a best-seller.
