Halloween Beauty Bits
It’s Hallowe’en this week and I am ridiculously excited – far too excited for an adult! I shared my favourite spooky Halloween makeup tutorials last week, and today it’s less frightening than that post, I promise.
Let’s start with something completely non-spooky from Oskia Skincare. The only Halloween link here is the pumpkin enzyme used in this lovely Renaissance Cleansing Gel (£28, Space NK, and oskiaskincare.com).
“By fermenting the pumpkin with a strain of good bacteria, it’s possible to break down many of the complex bio-molecules found in pumpkin,” says Georgie Cleeve, founder of Oskia. “Due to this unique process, our Pumpkin Enzymes are bioavailable and are capable of enhancing cellular renewal for excellent exfoliating benefits.”
So, essentially this cleansing gel will slough off the dead skin cells, and bring that radiance back to your skin. Other ingredients are Starflower Oil, Vitamin C and Vitamin and Vitamin A Palmitate.
It’s a great cleanser for this time of year when you change your skincare routine, and get rid of all of those dead skin cells.
Less serious pumpkins are avaialable at Lush in the shape of their glittery Sparkly Pumpkin Bath Bomb (£3.95). We love this rich smelling autumnal bomb. Or maybe the Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb (£3.95) is more your thing? This gruesome green bath bomb is a blend of vanilla, black pepper and patchouli. Or maybe you prefer to take a little Nightwing shower jelly bat (£3.95) into the bathroom? Full of aloe, lime and carob, it’s fresh and spooky!
Still at Lush, if you want to give someone a gift, or just treat yourself at Halloween, then choose from a pumpkin or a bat Heebie Jeebie! The pumpkin contains a Sparkly Pumpkin and a Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb (£9.50) and the Bat Heebie Jeebie holds a bottle of Lord of Misrule Shower Gel and a Nightwing Shower Jelly (£10.75). All of these products available at Lush stores and lush.co.uk
MAC do a brilliant Halloween makeup service on all counters. Head along and spend £30 or £50 for a 30 minute or 90 minute makeover, the cost redeemable against products. And we’re not talking just a few slicks of paint or fake blood here.
How about this amazing Ice Queen looks?!
Or, are you more of a dark, Zombie style?
Maybe an Egyptian Goddess is your go-to Halloween look?
Or, a favourite of many, MAC’s take on a Day of the Dead look.
