Cult Beauty - BeneTint

2 min read

Whilst it’s always great to celebrate new launches in the beauty world- and there are more than enough of them to do that on this blog every week – there are some cult beauty products we just love to celebrate. Classics that have stood the test of time, maintained their best-selling status, and products that many of us couldn’t live without. So, let’s celebrate one every week!

BENEFIT BENETINT

Benetint Cult Beauty Product of the Week

Back in 1977, and exotic dancer visited the San Francisco shop of the Benefit co-founders Jean and Jane Ford with an unusual request…she needed a product that would give her nipples a bit of colour, and last throughout her long performances. So, Jean and Jane crafted a rouge-hued stain by steaming rose petals in their kitchen. Soon, they had a queue round the block for their product, and Benefit’s Benetint was born.

Read more about this amazing story here.  Fast forward a few years, and Benetint – a brilliant lip and cheek stain – was the No1 best-selling ‘other colour’ product in the UK for three years.

Why? Probably because it is so simple, and it does exactly what is says. Benetint is just that – a tint. Apply it to the apples of your cheeks, for a flushed look – a rosy glow, a winter-cheek face, as I like to think of it. Just three little brush strokes, blended in, does give a decent pay-off. I’m not so big a fan of it on the lips, but the more you apply, the bigger the colour pay-off there, and, if you aren’t a big lipstick fan, what’s not to love.It is a stain – so the secret is to blend quickly!

Benetint is so popular, that it’s no surprise that Benefit have added another three, similar tints to the portfolio. Cha Cha Tint is a mango/orange tint, perfect with a tan, Lollitint is a candy pink tint, and Posietint is a poppy pink tint.

Makeup artists love it, and so do celebrities. Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus are both fans, and so is Hollywood superstar Nicole Kidman, no less.

If you fancy trying Benetint (but seriously, where have you been if you haven’t already?!), then find it at all Benefit locations, and at benefitcosmetics.co.uk, for £24.50.
