Liz Earle Superskin Face Serum

2 min read

There seems to be a lot of new lauches of late for the more mature, or very dry skin. There is a new Origins range coming soon – more on that next week – but for now, it’s Liz Earle launching their Superskin Face Serum.

Every launch in beauty seems to have a hashtag with it, and this one is #slowtheticking.

We can’t turn the clock back,” says Liz Earle, “but the Superskin  range can definitely help
to ‘slow the ticking’.”

I’m not sure if I like this or not – the ticking clock always seems such an ominous thing!

Anyway, this is Liz Earle’s most powerful serum yet, formulated with potent plant extracts to leave mature or very dry skin looking firmed, lifted, even and radiant. All the boxes we want ticked.Liz Earle Superskin Serum

Botanical extracts in this come from  the radiance-enhancing Persian silk tree and collagen-boosting pomegranate flower, while olive leaf extract stimulates skin cell renewal and rhubarb extract provides prolonged hydration.

Let’s have a look at those extracts in more detail.

Persian silk tree extract

Grown in China and cultivated by local farmers when the plant blooms at the end of spring and in early summer, Persian silk tree extract helps counteract the signs of skin fatigue, restoring radiance while brightening and evening skin tone.

Pomegranate flower extract

Native to the Himalayan region of India, pomegranate flower extract is a natural multi-tasking skin booster due to its high antioxidant content. This key ingredient helps protect skin from environmental aggressors, boosts collagen, has anti-inflammatory properties, soothes skin and helps prevent age spots.

Olive leaf extract

The leaves of the olive tree have antiseptic and calming properties and were traditionally used to lower fevers and blood pressure. They’re a rich source of Oleuropein, a polyphenol which has been shown to protect the skin from ageing. In Superskin Face Serum, this extract works with jujube extract (Chinese date extract – a Triterpenoid Saponin that strengthens the skin’s antioxidant protection system) to increase skin hydration, smooth and increase cell renewal.

Rhubarb root extract

This moisture-boosting botanical contains Rhaponticin, an active compound shown to positively influence the skin’s moisture mechanism, leaving skin looking radiantly plump and glowing.

Use Superskin Face Serum just as you would any serum, after cleansing, and before moisturiser.
